| About PoCo Heritage |
Established in 1988 and officially known as the Port Coquitlam Heritage and Cultural Society, PoCo Heritage preserves Port Coquitlam's history and culture for future generations. Our members coordinate displays at the Display Centre, Port Coquitlam City Hall and the Terry Fox Library. These displays feature historical photographs, First Nations artifacts, tools, collectables, maps and antiques. We also catalogue historical photographs, newspaper and documents, both in print and digitally. The Society is building a collection of modern-day heritage related photographs and videos. We are also actively involved in initiatives to save historically significant structures and build a permanent lasting legacy for Port Coquitlam in the form of a permanent heritage center. In 2010 we shortened our public name to "PoCo Heritage" and changed our logo to reflect this new "brand". Both the old and new logos can be seen at the top of this page. The new brand is simplified and modernized, while still reflecting our past. Look closely and you can find two important elements of our past "rivers and rails". Below is a list of our current locations, both of which are operated on a voluntary basis. |

Located in The Outlet at Leigh Square (next to City Hall on McAllister Avenue), this is where all of our community records, photos, newspapers and digital information is kept. We have a wealth of information here as well as various tools for retrieving and viewing information, which we are happy to assist with on a "by donation" basis. The Archives are open Wednesday mornings 9:30 am - 1:30 pm and Thursday afternoons 4 pm - 8 pm. We will also open for special requests.
